"Promises" off of Genuine Pleasure EP, out this fall on The Animal Farm.
Promises attempts to express what it's like to watch someone try and drive another person away, but it never takes. The upbeat tone and airy string arrangements belie the otherwise cruelty of the subject matter. Written over 2 days while calling in sick from work.

lyrics
I got you made
I got you making promises
I got you wading to everlasting
I heard you say
I just do what my body says
I heard you saying us everafter
Dont have to make me promises
If you just do what you said
I’ve been wasting all my nights
Chasing down whats on my mind
Dont make me wait here down here on my knees
Baby, cause I’ll wait a long time
I got you say-
I got you saying all of this
I got you made
I got you making promises
I got you wading to everlasting
I heard you say
I just do what my body says
I heard you saying us everafter
Change your mind on all of this
Its just this one time again and again
Promises
On my mind
Want all of it
All of the time
I lay awake here wrapped up in the sheets
And don’t know when to just let go
I got you say-
I got you saying all of this
I got you made
I got you making promises
I got you wading to everlasting
I heard you say
I just do what my body says
I heard you saying us everafter
Quit making promises
Just do what your body says
You and me ever after
You and me ever lasting
And just do
And just do
And just do what your body says
